Latest UPDATE

MusicMan struggles with pain in the right side often - where the lung and gallbladder incisions are. Tests offers no findings, and doctors guess, so don't know why he has the pains. Meds give no relief. Other than this - he said he would feel good.

1-16-2009
MusicMan has a follow-up at cancer-care,
and with the heart specialist, in March.

 2008 Medical Updates for MusicMan

11-12-2008
The therapy is complete and shows some improvement.

11-12-2008
MusicMan has had shoulder pains and the problem was just recently identified. He was checked for bone cancer and none is present. The pain was caused by the effects of chemotherapy and it is Not arthritis. His rotator cuff was damaged. MusicMan will begin physical therapy to see if it helps, He can also get cortizone shots anytime. Surgery is possible but may not resolve the pains much.

9-22-2008
The cancer hasn't grown and the doctors are keeping an eye on it. We are so Thankful for this good report.
Keep MusicMan in your prayers for the constant pain in his shoulders and arms. No cause has been found yet for it.

7-30-2008
The gallbladder drain was removed.

The cancer in the kidney has NOT grown any so surgery won't be necessary at this time. It's something that will be monitored of course.

6-16-2008
MusicMan is home after undergoing surgery to aid in removal of infection inside the gallbladder area. I wish that I could tell you that it's pain free but it is not. Treatment lasts for two weeks.

6-13-2008
MusicMan has had more pain and problems stemming from his gallbladder surgery and now he feels like a punching bag with all the tests he's went through. They've found a bad infection. He goes in the hospital 6/16/08 (Monday) for another surgery to try to right this problem.
Thanks in advance for your prayers. God Bless all of you!

4-24-2008
MusicMan was released from the hospital today. He's to take it easy and not do anything for a while. After the gallbladder surgery he had more pain than normal due to the broken/cracked ribs from lung surgery one year ago.

4-23-2008
MusicMan had the laproscopic gallbladder surgery early today and was admitted afterward for pain treatment. They made five incisions.

4-20-2008
MusicMan is scheduled for laproscopic gallblader surgery on May 23, 08.

4-3-2008
The Cancer doctor is checking frequent test results on MusicMan to watch the lung and kidney.
We went to the ER and now have learned that MusicMan has to have his gallblader removed. He will meet with a surgeon on the 15th to find out more about this.

1-24-2008
The kidney doctor planned to operate to remove the 1 inch tumor from MusicMan's right kidney but MusicMan convinced him to delay it for now. MusicMan is still healing from the lung surgery and wants to be stronger and feel better before facing another surgery. They will monitor the kidney frequently because we were advised that the tumor will grow over time.

MusicMan is celebrating LIFE now.
He's not moping around feeling sorry for himself but is full of hope. He keeps me alert with his shananigans,
the work-ideas he comes up with for ME to do around our place, and the many songs he sings to me with his own ad-libs interjected. He COMFORTS me when I'm tired and weary and gives me loving encouragement and confidence.

We stand on this Promise:
My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:19

Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.
John 14:27

Previously...
we were told originally that MusicMan had Renal Cancer and were given test reports to document that fact. Due to medical problems in 2004 neither of his kidneys will operate fully now. They're both at 25% and won't get better. Problem caused as results from an MRI and/or Cat Scan with Contrast (with dye). The hospitals see this happen often but usually the kidneys begin functioning again within 24 hours. MusicMan's kidneys did NOT return to normal. MusicMan's doctor was stern with the prognosis and according to one doctor the right kidney needed removed and we were very concerned.
The surviving kidney wouldn't sustain him.
We were waiting to find out IF the medical staff could locate a qualified surgeon in this area and were willing to travel to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. (as suggested by the kidney doctor).

We want to Thank everyone for all of the Prayers and kind words during this scary time.
We would also like to say a Special Thank You to BRIAN who whole-heartedly offered his kidney for a transplant if necessary.
AND... we especially Thank GOD!!!

'God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.'
1 Corinthians 1:9

.

He played the trumpet at the White House and at the New York World's Fair in the 1960's.
